Earlier in the month, I had a chance to do my first family/toddler shoot. I must admit, the age-old advice of never working with kids or animals had guided me up to this point. However, I do believe in trying things once, and since it was for a good friend, that made things even easier. In the end, Miles was a great sport about being cajoled, prodded and coaxed into smiling as often as he was. As for me, I discovered how challenging it is to focus, frame and shoot while waving a squeaking plush duck over my head. I'm certain it was a sight to behold.
All worth it, though, as the photos turned out great - and Miles' parents were happy with the results. Not a bad final shoot in Los Angeles.
