When I embarked on my time abroad, I approached it photographically in a predictable manner: make images of all of the new and interesting things that make these foreign lands so different than my experience in America. As time passed and I photographed more and more places, I came to realize that while the surroundings may seem unique, the human experience itself has an incredible amount of commonality. As such, I began to focus on those similarities, in an attempt to capture the parallel experiences of people living in these diverse locations.
